Welcome!
Let's Kick Off the 2019-2020 School Year!
My name is Mrs. Danielle McMann, and I am your/your child's DCT/OJT teacher at University High School! I am so excited to be sharing this school year with you and I know it will be a lot of fun.
This webpage will be a way for students and parents to see what is going on in the classroom, find homework, get assignments when absent, and to contact me. This is your one stop shop for my classroom!
Now for a little about myself. I am a graduate from the University of Central Florida, where I studied Elementary Education. From the University I received my teaching degree and am certified to teach K-6, reading K-12, and I am ESOL endorsed. I also have a Master's in Educational Leadership from Stetson University, and am currently looking at PhD programs. While I was born in Plattsburgh, New York, I have lived in Florida for 20 years. I am a graduate from DeLand High School, where I was active in yearbook, soccer, and various other clubs on campus, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Renaissance.
I am also the junior class sponsor and SAC secretary for our school.
Fun fact! I met my Husband, Mr. McMann teaching here at UHS! He used to be an English teacher here, but started teaching virtual school last year.
Be advised, I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and will probably be using quite a few "Potterisms" in the classroom, especially with the opening of the new roller coaster at Islands of Adventure this summer (I haven't ridden it yet, but it is on my list!).
Again, welcome to my classroom and I look forward to working with you all. Please feel free to contact me through this web page, or my school email, (all contact information provided in the syllabus sent home on the first day of class) at any time. The syllabus is also available for download on the "Weekly Information" tab of this web page. Go Titans!
